What does the rise of Donald Trump tell us about the USA?
by fulltimestudent ini thank one of my former lecturers for drawing my attention to this overview.. after some 100 years, living out its "manifest destiny" dream, as the hegemon of the world, what has this 'dream' done to/for the usa?
the approaching presidential election provides an opportunity to examine this question.. and what of all the appendage organisations (like the wts) that rode across the world on the hegemon's coattails?.
the answer may be here: http://www.vox.com/2016/3/1/11127424/trump-authoritarianism.

Hitler promised the Germans an empire that would last a thousand years.
Mussolini promised the Italians that they would become a second Roman Empire.
The Donald promises Americans greatness again.
Round and round we go; where we'll stop nobody knows.

I for one do not believe in the banning of any religion no matter how bad it is. It's the slippery slope situation where anyone who is not in favor with the State gets banned. -

The two elders threaten my sister again
by opusdei1972 inas i reported here in this forum, some time ago, my sister was constantly harried by two elders so as to be submitted to a judiciary committee for apostasy.
these two elders were constantly hounding her in the street when she walks to go to her job.
so she had to send them a notary letter in which she wrote that she would attend the judiciary committee only with her attorney.

I have told to my sister that she must report to the police that these two elders are stalking her.
If she goes to the police they will simply give her a restraining order document to fill out at home and take it to a judge. That could prevent the elders from coming within 100 yards of her. -

I think those elders are taking the case of your sister personally and want to give her the inquisition style treatment that they can't have elsewhere but in the KH. -

What? Do you think for one moment that I would sabotage the organization by becoming a GB member? -

Not being affiliated with a religious denomination should not be interpreted to mean that such people are atheists or agnostics. Many of those self-identified non-religious people might still revere Jesus or be Deists. -

Politically Correct Wasteland
by freemindfade inthis was a comment i made from another post, but i would like to hear some people discuss this.
i know the social justice warriors will scream i'm some sort of trump supporter for what i say even though i don't agree with his ideas and no i am not voting for him... i accept this is a go to for them.. i think we have fallen into a pc vacuum.. criticizing someones religion = racism!.
telling someone to not be so sensitive = misogyny!.

I think we have fallen into a PC vacuum.
Opposing sides of an issue make claim to the politically "correct cliché". Those who complain about PC the most are those who practice it the most within their own culture.
As an example: Those who are pro-gun but believe in a background checks and no open carry. They'll quickly be blasted by the "politically correct" - NRA style - gun owners for not being sufficiently pro-gun.
Criticizing someones religion = racism!
My issue is not with criticizing other religions such as Islam but in the fact that those who criticize it the most, like fundamentalist Christians, are hypocrites who cannot smell the stench of their own religion and scriptures.
Telling someone to not be so sensitive = misogyny!
Trump is disrespectful of women. That should be obvious to anyone who's been awake for the past several months.
Calling someone out on BS = "rabid attack!"
That's what Republicans/Fundamentalist Christians do when the mildest criticism gently wafts their way. The word that Fundies use is "persecution".

I remember illustrations of happy parents coming to greet their resurrected child clutching clothes in their hands with which to dress him. So, I wonder, are these resurrected ones going to pop in already clothed or will there be tailors in the New Order (tm) with just the right information required to get the recent arrivals dressed up according to their custom?
